New Parking, Pedestrian and Bus Bay Guidelines

Hello SCC Community,

We trust that you have all had a safe and happy holiday, our staff are busily preparing and anticipating our students return on Thursday.  The College is incredibly excited for this term as the new building is nearing completion, which will provide a state of the art learning facility for our Secondary students, and added drop off and parking areas.

In addition to these added car parks, the front of College bus bay area was resurfaced and enlarged over the school holidays. These works were completed to help minimise congestion, increase traffic flow and provide added road safety measures for our students and families.

The new ‘Bus Bay Area’ will run a little differently when you return.

1. The bus bay fence line has been brought back closer to the front office to allow for traffic flow along Pineapple Road.

2.The College has provided a designated ‘Parent Drop Off Zone, with student safety in mind. This area is available for use between 8am and 2pm only, and is a place where you can conveniently drop off your child, whilst remaining in your car.

3.Parking beside the Front Office has now changed, with available parking spots now clearly identified. Please do not park in the ‘no parking’ zone as buses will use this area to enter back onto Pineapple Rd.

Pedestrian Traffic To and From School.

The College is currently working with Lismore City Council to provide the safest possible Pedestrian Management Plan for our students and families. We encourage all of our families to utilise the new ‘Parent Drop Zone’ or travel by bus to school. Student safety is our highest priority; as such, we discourage students walking or cycling along Pineapple Road when travelling to and from school until new pedestrian facilities have been developed. Please do not drop your children at the drop off zones along the Bruxner Highway until these works have been completed.
