Year 11 Advanced Maths HSC Teacher, Mrs Barr, explains why she loves teaching Secondary students and why it is an honour to teach Maths.

We've also included a profile on Mrs Barr's career and her teaching approach!

"Mathematics is an elegant, complex discipline. To journey with Year 11 and 12 students as they delve into God’s universe of patterns and perfect chaos will be such an honour. I look forward to taking on this new role in 2017. My major at university was Mathematics, so it’s exciting to be teaching a subject I love. My role of learning support teacher challenges me to find, and remove, the blocks in our classrooms that dis-able students. In the right environment, each student flourishes. My post graduate areas of research include the study of students who are differently-abled in regard to cognitive functioning, and individual numeracy accommodations in inclusive classroom settings."
