Congratulations to the HSC classes of 2017. We are very proud of the results of a number of our students and are encouraged by the efforts of the whole class.
School Captain Jonathan Atherton’s 95 in the 2 Unit Mathematics course was a highlight and an excellent outcome for our College. Jonathan also achieved highly in Maths Extension 1 and in Chemistry. An overall ATAR of 93.2 is a credit to his hard work over the last two years and we wish him all the best with Engineering studies next year.
School Captain Charlie Tasker ‘was pleased’ that her hard work had paid off, with a result of 91 in Advanced English and 92 in PDHPE. These marks, added to last year’s 91 in Legal Studies. Charlie has already been granted early entry into Southern Cross University, after placing first in the SCU HeadStart program in ‘Communications’, and is looking to pursue studies in Law.
Kiah Oosterbeek’s skill and application helped her on the way to a score of 90 in HSC Music, as well as 86 in Ancient History. Kiah specialised in Extension English 1 and 2 with excellent results in both courses. She is aiming to study law next year and has had offers from several universities.
A special mention to Chloe Powers for placing in the top 10% of the HSC Standard English course.
Congratulations and thank you to the hardworking HSC teachers at SCC for helping our students pursue their dreams. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for all these young people.
