Charlie is our second student in the last two years to top her class in a first year university unit in the SCU Head-Start program. We are so proud of her hard work and success and wish her all the best as she sits her HSC trials.

Our college has partnered with this program as it provides an opportunity for Year 11 and 12 students to gain direct entry and advanced standing into a variety of courses offered at Southern Cross University. Students have the chance to gain a taste of university life and stimulate their interest in academic pursuits. This is designed for students who have the academic capability and are selected on merit, based on their academic performance, a personal statement and the recommendation of their Principal.

"Charlie Tasker successfully completed the Communication in Organisations unit via the SCU Head-Start program this year . Charlie topped her cohort and has received the high achiever award after the phenomenal amount of effort and dedication towards her studies. Now that she has completed the first year university unit, while working towards her HSC, Charlie will receive direct entry into her choice of degrees, with advanced standing, upon completion of school.

We will be excited to welcome Charlie to SCU in 2018, and also Anna Sayers, who topped Head-Start Biology, while in year 11 in 2015. Anna has received an offer to study B Midwifery in 2017.

SCU held a Completion Ceremony for Head-Start 2016 on Thursday, 28 July, 2016. Here, Charlie can be seen receiving her high achiever award from the SCU Vice Chancellor, Professor Peter Lee FTSE.

Registrations for Head-Start 2017 are open now until 9 October, 2016.
